NT Moore, when you do your wiper job....... Posted by EverettDave [Email] (#1894) [Profile/Gallery] (more from EverettDave) on Tue, 3 May 2005 01:22:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Nathan, thank you for the good photo of your new/used wiper transmission. I do see the oblong slot on the short linkage which attaches to the wiper output shaft. I am assuming that the output shaft has flats on each side to match the slot, well, not assuming, since SwedeCar verified that.duh!
OK, when you tackle the wiper mechanism replacement, please let me know whether there is anything fastening or securing the slotted short arm to the motor output shaft. Nut, clip, whatever. Or, does it just slide on and stay there? Pics would be welcome.
My situation is this: For a week I have noticed that this short arm is working and rotating somewhat on that output shaft, and no locking method in sight. (symptom: park position shifted to mid windshield). At this point, I have no wipers at all, and I imagine that I have either a blown wiper relay or fuse, or worse, burned out motor, due to some binding at this linkage point I've described. I am about to go after the cause, but would like to know what secures the slotted arm to the wiper shaft.
Thank you!
