R134a Retrofit, (low side service port)

Bought this week at Kragens an R134a retrofit kit. It doesn't include any o-rings, but does have 1 can of ester oil, 3 conversion fittings, 3 cans of r134a, and 1 hose for filling. $35 on special instead of regular price $50.
The instructions say, "locate the low side service port on the vehicle's air conditioner and remove the protective cap. The low-side service port is located betweeen the evaporator and the compressor."
On visual inspection, I don't see any service port been the compress and the evaporator, but instead think that the port is located on the compressor housing itself.
My guess is that on the compress housing itself the top service port that is covered with a brown cap is the low side, and that the lower service port covered with a black cap is the high side.
I'm calling service ports the things that look like a tire inflating valve on steroids.
I'm looking for some confirmation that I am right or wrong in believing that those two nipples are the low and high side service ports?
