OK, so the molecular weight is barely different.
At 100 degrees F & 32 psig...
The density is 3% lower. N2 has a 0.04 ounce per tire weight advantage.
But the volumetric thermal expansion is actually 3% LARGER for N2. Doesn't this contradict the most popular reason given for using N2?
Thermal conductivity is 0.4% lower. Barely makes a difference.
Heat capacity is 2.6% higher. So N2 would take slightly longer to heat up, but that doesn't matter in steady-state.
Viscosity is 3% lower. N2 has this advantage considering secondary flows within the tire, causing less energy loss while rolling. But I bet most of the rolling resistance is due to tread squirm & hysteresis in the tire material.
