Well .. I have both. The 900 is still a classic. Though the conv in particular doesn't exactly handle well. I plan on redoing the front end once the summer is over. It only has 83K though! Simple car to work on and VERY reliable. Cheap parts online both new and used. I bought the car in 98 with 30K on it.

The 9-3 Arc is kindof boring but very quick! I have a 5 speed. I did have an '03 6 speed but the transmission never really worked on that car.
I've ad the car almost 6 months .. no dealer trips yet. Freeway MPG is 33 or so. Looking under the hood you aren't going to be getting parts from Eeuroparts and bolting them on!

Gripes are ... and the 03 didn't do any of this

very rough start .. then it sounds like a diesel at low rpm. Maybe a software fix.

front end clunk .. may be a caliper.
