Each of my post-1984 900 turbos suffered from this identical problem, which, it seems, has been neglected to be remedied by SAAB. THIS IS NOT A NORMAL OCCURRENCE, so do not fall into the "ignore it and it should be OK" trap. Water in a location of extreme friction where oil acts as the sole lubricant between metal components can only spell trouble somewhere down the line. A "solution" with which I have had success each time has been to unscrew the cap of the coolant reservoir one full turn. This disables pressure buildup within the engine-block, and enables steam from the coolant to escape through the cap and not through any faulty seals within the engine, and therefore into the oil, which only serves to weaken existing faulty seals and exacerbate the problem.
Change the oil; replenish the coolant supply; keep the cap on the coolant reservoir "loose." You will notice not only no "mayonnaise" on the oil dipstick but also no substantial loss of coolant.
