I recently removed and replaced my clutch because of a tranny jobp. I'm sure I wasn't entirely careful while handling the clutch disc with my dirty, oily, brake fluid messy hands upon rebuild because there was evident clutch slippage and shuddering for the first 100 miles. It's now fine. But an oil soaked disc, even if thoroughly cleaned with a strong solvent such as lacquer thinner (my choice over gasoline if you're going to deal with oil removal), there may remain enough oil set deep in the clutch friction pads that it may take a long while before all signs of slippage disappear, and with prolonged slippage comes the risk of "hot spot" scoring on the pressure plate and flywheel contact surfaces, which only leads to more slippage, scoring and disc wear. With adequate soaking and dry time (out in the sun or under a heat lamp), you might luck out and find no slippage. Good luck.
