Alternator and Power Steering Belts: How Tight??

Hi SAABnetters:
I have Bentley opened to page 110-6 where Table C indicates exactly how tight the alternator and power steering (PS) belts need to be tightened. According to Table C, belt tightening requires a "special belt tensioning guage" (and refered to as such in Table C).
According to the specs in Table C, 2 new alternator belts are to be tightened to 120 plus/minus 10 lbs. Also, a new PS belt is to be tightened to 100 plus/minus 10 lbs.
Well, I don't have the "special belt tensioning guage." Could you please suggest how I might determine whether I'm withing specifications without having this guage?
Many, many thanks!
Phil (Crank-a-roo) Smith

ps. Some of you guys may know by now how much I love to really tighten things! Remember the sheared 6mm bolt on the oil pump housing?? This sort of thing gets me into deep trouble once in a while. Fortunatly, my Portugese neighbor bailed me out on that one.
