Your symptoms sound like a bad ABS relay or two. there are two relays main and pump. They are located in a small relay box on the passenger side near the P/S reservoir. First pull them and check for corrosion on the spades. You can pull the covers and look for bad contacts. I believe one ofthe relays has some other circuitry and is more expensive. Of course that's the one that failed for me.
You should also turn the ignition to run(not start) and listen for the ABS pump to run. It should run until the pressure builds up and then stop. If it continues to run until the motor overheats and stops, you probably have a bad relay.
Problem also could be a bad accumulator, but your symptoms are not the usual. you can test your accumulator by pumping the brakes rapidly(ignition on) and see how many pumps it takes for your brake warning light to come on. 5-7 pumps = bad accumulator. 10-12 pumps = good accumulator.
Accumulators cost about $300, but are a snap to replace.
