Yes, it is a common problem. But just make sure to get the Genuine Saab brand. Go to http://www.eeuroparts.com and get it there. I believe it is like $109.00 or something like that. Shipping will be free because it is over $39.00. Also, do you have the Bently manual? It'll show ya how to remove it and so forth. The first time I did the job, I got the cheap aftermarket brand(MTC, I think). Well, it is a lot easier to do the job with the knee bolster off( lower dash pad) and remove the heater core and the heater control valve as one unit. It would be a good idea to put some new foam around the heater core while your at it. There are some pictures I will try to find to show you that. You can just use foam rubber. I used foam weatherstripping that you use on doors for houses. Well antways when I first did the job, I didn't remove the knee bolster and tried to work under the dash to get the heater control valve out and I'll tell ya right now, it is a major pain in the butt to do it that way. Remove the control valve and the heater core as one unit, with the knee bolster off,ok. Another thing to do is the kit that you will get from eeuroparts, the valve will come with 2 o-rings that fit in its grooves. Well use some silicon gasket sealer to hold the o-rings in the grooves so they won't fall out when you put the control valve on the heater core. Talk to ya later.
