If it did, did it just blow out the back because someone hit the pedal without the slave fully bolted home? If so don't throw it away - - just push it all back together right in place and bolt the slave down fully, all three bolts, then re-bleed, depress clutch, insert Saab special spacer tool in pressure plate, proceed with re-removal, install your seal, and all back together again.
And if you can't get the slave back together in place, you can depress the pressure plate using a trick I've posted here with 3 fat nuts - - do a search under pressure plate here.
Then once slave is out you can clean it up and re-assemble - - just push it back together. It's hard to imagine anything going wrong otherwise with a new slave cylinder.
If it tries to push the piston without the back bolted hard up tight against the tranny, it has no option except to push its own guts out the back.
