That has no stretch or conforming properties and is loaded with abrasive. Looks sort of like but isn't same. Of course you could be using the 3M 8681HS polyurethane tape in a dark finish, it's matte, and would work fine as anti-skid in a moderate traffic situation.
I believe the 8681 is the stuff; the question is it comes in four matte shades of military gray and the color code numbers don't give a clue what those grays look like.
I pulled a PDF data sheet on the stuff off a 3M web site but I'm a novice at linking to things or posting such data here. Once it's determined what is wanted it would probably not be hard to find a 3M distributor willing to sell their minimum order, one case of six rolls at 36 yards per roll. But who wants to buy that much up front? I'm for hooking up with the guy on e-Bay and getting him to slit some to fit classic 900s if he really does have the right material.
