Well I bled the cam bolts as per the bentley, and I'm still getting the loud ticking sound. Honetly, it sounds like one reaaally bad lifter (loud as hell). HOWEVER.. the car runs beautifully, with great vacuum, and I even drove it down the road it it was smooth.. but sounded sooo loud.
I did a compression test and these were the results:
Cylinder 1 : 160
Cylinder 2 : 165
Cylinder 3 : 166
Cylinder 4 : 165
I used an old mechanic trick with a long screwdiver to hear where the noise is coming from. It appears to be the loudest near the timing chain. BUt, the chain looks fine and tight, and I have a NEW pad on the valve cover.
So I'm sorta baffled, and I am wondering if perhaps I have one really bad lifter thats making the noise. Do you think I can drive it if its a bad lifter? Thoughts?
Thanks guys, I appreciate all your input so far and welcome any more. Thanky!
