When was the O2 sensor last replaced? Posted by 72saabsonett [Email] In Reply to: 88 900s Idle 5 sp, Alan, Mon, 15 Aug 2005 04:57:41 Members see ZERO ads on the bulletin boards and get more feature. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My 85 turbo would start idling fast when the O2 sensor needed changing. The O2 sensor should be changed every 60,000 miles for cars before 1991, 1991 cars have the O2 sensor monitored and the check engine light will come on when they need replacong. If the O2 sensor isn't functioning right or dirty from age the RCU will raise idle speed to get a "good" reading from the O2 sesnor faster idles speed means more O2 is sensed.
