I really don't understand why people stress about knowing if a SPG is "real" or not. If the factory takes a turbo model and adds a few tweaks, a body kit, and 3-spoke wheels then it's a "real SPG." If someone buys a turbo and adds the exact same things then it's a "fake SPG." What's up with that? As far as I know, the resale value of a "real" SPG is no higher than a SPG clone.
That said, here are my two ideas: 1) check the sticker on the driver's side visor. A factory SPG should specify V rated tires instead of H rated tires. 2) check to see if the car has the rubber protective strip running across the sides. These are to protect the side of the car if someone opens their car door too close to your car. The SPG didn't have them and if someone removed them there may be some residue/evidence.
