fuel guage question

OK people. What mark on the guage is considered full? Is it the F mark or the small hash mark between the 3/4 and the F? I have been having fuel guage problems on my 87 turbo, and replaced the sending unit which was dead. Bridging the correct wires brought it to full so I replaced the sender. First new sender read nothing out of the box, replaced with another one, and to the hash mark is what I get with a full tank. All wires check out fine, have tightened fuel and temp guage, so I hope that the hash mark is the full mark. If not, further testing must be done. Thanks. Emmanuel
