You could check if clutch is dragging by keeping clutch pedal depressed with a board against seat support. Put tranny in neutral. Set parking brake. Then remove clutch shaft cover by radiator, remove plastic oil slinger, screw in an 8Mx1.25 bolt and try turning with a wrench. You should feel or hear any dragging. Try the same thing when clutch is hot or cold to see if there's any difference. Remember to replace oil slinger and clutch shaft cover with seal before starting engine. If clutch is not dragging, then you may want to try a slightly heavier tranny lube. I use Honda MTL. Have also liked BG synchro shift. Still have to put it in a forward gear momentarily before going into reverse.
