After seeing a bunch of C900's come through the local Saab shop, I've noticed a few cars from the earlier years had perfect dashes, even sitting in the sun with no windshields in the backyard boneyard, while the later years are more crack prone.
Same thing with bubbling glovebox doors, some of the older ones I saw were perfect while the later years almost all seem to be bubble prone from outgassing in the molded holes under the vinyl faces.
I strongly suspect both the dash cracks and the door bubbles have something to do with going green, Saab or Sweden changing the rules on the types of adhesives and plastic additives they would tolerate in the workplace, ending up with greener but less-effective chemistry.
Just a theory, anybody know more?
