...Highway speed is dangerous. That is why we don't travel that fast on side streets. Loss of control and locking brakes is easy.
If one is cut off unexpectedly at highway speed by a reckless driver, by definition there is not enough room to slow or control the car. The other driver in the truck cut me off with only 1 car length between us at highway speed. This is what bump and run car crash/no-fault car crashers count on.
Then this person cut me off and then jammed brakes, creating a situation where there was no safe room in front of me, making a clear possiblity if a rear end accident that was not my doing.
When she jammed her brakes, that was assault with a deadly weapon.
Therefore your-Honor, I submit that the summons was in err, I was not the cause of the loss of control of my vehicle, and the officer's assumption, whilst good intended, was in errs.
NEXT TIME KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD, YOUR SPEEDOMETER AT SPEED LIMIT, AND YOUR FINGER WELL HOLSTERED IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO CONTROL YOUR CAR IN A PINCH!
