I love my '92 but here are some words of wisdom passed to me on this site when I was looking for mine. Mileage doesn't make as much difference as maintenance. Be sure you have a compression test, a leak down test and a pressure test at top dead center looking for bad head gasket, especially if you opt for a turbo which are fun! My mechanic saiys the ones older than '89 or '90 have better A/C compressors but I doubt that is a huge problem in Alaska. 2.0L is the better choice because of head gasket probs with the 2.1L from what I understand. Check brake fluid and see if it is super dark or has water (condensate) in it. Either of these will give an indication of the type of maintenance. (brake fluid should be fairly clear and certainly without water) Check out the steering rack seals as they can be an issue if not properly maintained. But beyond that I am told the engines are bullet proof and go for 250k or 300k without difficulty if cared for. And get a 5 speed instead of automatic. Automatics have had problems. Hope that helps some.
