The tail light wiring in the CV/Sedan is worthy of an Italian car! Take the brake lights. One wire into the circuit board where it powers one bulb, is branched to a second bulb, and then picked up to go to the other side. 4 bulbs worth of power into one connection. That's why the wires going to the passenger side are half as thick as the wires feeding into the driver's side. That's also why the one side connector can oxidize and burn.
The pins can be removed, cleaned, tightened and pressed back. You can also jumper the appropriate wires from that going into the driver's side to that going across to the passenger side, releaving the connector pins of much of their load.
