My 92 900S went up under a Chevy HD at roughly 25-30mph. The pins locked the hood, and folded it center forward. It was high enough to clear the lights grill and bumper, plus the car was still driveable, if you can emagine that. It was a pain in the ass to unlock those pins. If it were any other car, I would have been walking home. I have never seen a Saab hood enter the cabin.
The cause of the accident was a problem with the ABS. I hit the brakes, and the calipers delayed about a second or two before they grabed. After the wreck, I tested it on a desolate road. This occured about 1 out of 3 hard stops. My guess was a faulty ABS box.
