Hi Den,
I have a 1994 900 Convertible Turbo....just restored the Radio unit from a Pioneer back to the Clarion.
Do you have the car's Audio Equipment Manual? (it has the Wiring Diagram in the back pages).
1 of the box connectors is for the front speakers....
Green and brown wires are for the left front speaker.
Red and blue wires are for the right front speaker.
The other box connector is for....
Switched Power (Red wire)
Ground (Black wire)
Antenna Trigger (Green wire)
Radio Unit Illumination (Brown/White wire)
Radio Memory (Grey wire)
The 6-pin round connector (blue band around wire insulation) is for the rear speakers and amplifier (located under rear seat). Your Pioneer unit will have an amplifier and wiring for both front and rear speakers. So this round connector may have to be isolated.
Wiring harness for Pioneer may be found at Wal Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City, any stereo, electronics store....just tell them Model Number of your Pioneer unit.
Just cut the connectors from existing harness (cut close to connector so you'll have as much Saab wiring to splice with the new Pioneer harness. Then match wire colors of Saab wiring and new harness (some may vary, follow package instructions or seek guidance from a car stereo installation pro) then splice together. Rear speaker wiring may be part of new harness for your Pioneer Unit. Pioneer should also have a port for the Antenna wire (Brown).
Hope this helps, by the way what are you going to do with your old Clarion unit....I may be able to use it.
Thanks - Ron, Boston
