Fixed the Heat, but now the seat won't lower

After a few days of frigid temps down here in Alabama (yes, we do get them in northern Alabama!), I tackled diagnosing the non-functional seat heaters in my 94 T16 Convertible.

Replacing the fuse brought the passenger's side to life, but the driver's side was still cold.

I removed the seat, peeled back the lower cover, then discovered that the problem was actually in the seat back. Rather than tear into the seatback, I just jumpered the wiring to it at the connector, and re-assembled the seat.

Once it was installed, the heat works, but the front height adjustment won't lower the seat all of the way down--it goes all of the way up, but only part of the way back down. The rear height adjustment and the fore-aft adjustments both work fine.

I've watched it move in the car, and couldn't see it hitting anything obvious.

The next step is to pull the seat out again to see what I might have bumped while working on it.

Is there any sort of adjustable stop? Anything that commonly goes wrong with these? Is there any way that my clever fix could cause a problem like this?
