Spratel, It sounds like you are off to a good start on curing your performance problems. It sounds kind of like you are in "Limp home mode" which is what happens if your AMM is kaput (or disconnected). Disconnect it and see whether the cars' performance changes. If there are vacuum leaks she'll never run properly and with intake plumbing leaks you won't boost right either. I don't think that you really need to clean an AMM (except maybe superficially) and the wire in there is somewhat sensitive. Cleaning the throttle body is just a matter of spraying in some carb cleaner and then wiping. I guess that you could clean the outside with a toothbrush and carb cleaner if it's really filthy. Try to keep carb cleaner away from electrical stuff and plastic and rubber as much as possible. There's no PCV check valve but there should be a one way valve in the small vacuum hose that goes from the intake to the valve cover. Test that valve and it goes so that air will move from the valve cover to the intake but not the other way. When the throttle is closed your throttle position switch should have continuity across pins 1 and 2 and the continuity should stop as soon as the throttle is opened. continuity should occur across pins 2 and 3 at near full throttle. Sounds like your dashpot is no good by the way. My favorite first test on a car with limited or no boost is to clamp (or disconnect) the hose from the APC solenoid to the wastegate and see if the car boosts. Now you know whether to work on the APC system, the induction plumbing or the turbo itself although bad turbos usually have other hard to miss symptoms. Make sure that your automatic transmission is full of type F atf (only) and that the final drive is filled to the filler plug with 80w gear oil.
