It's been a while since I've posted - but the other day when I pulled into my driveway...there was somewhat of a 'snap' sound as I went to put in in reverse (Manual '84 900T). Explained it to my mechanic - he said that there are some springs underneath that keep some tension to help bring the stick back to neutral had snapped. He said it would be about an hour fix. I was just wondering - since this isn't anything that can really do any damage - I might wait a little on fixing it and try to do it myself when I get some time. What kind of level DIY is this? I've taken off the center console before for painting, so that part won't be an issue. And does anyone have any diagrams or images that they could send my way to show me the inner workings and what I'd have to replace? Thanks in advance for any help or advice. In the meantime I'll have fun learning the 'exact' positioning of every gear!
