To bad I wrote a long procedure somewhere on the board and I can't find it. Anyways, here is the idea.
1) Get some white paint, nail polish, or something that is bright. Use a thin brush.
2) Park you car on a flat surface as you will need to roll the car back and forth in gear to move the timing mark.
3) for the c900, to see the flywheel markings, it helps to move the AIC valve out of the way. Just pull it out under the round bracket and tie it down out of the way.
4) Now look strait down and find the line on the clutch cover. This is your reference mark. If you are standing on the driver side, look and see the round hole on the clutch cover. The timing reference line is to the right of this round hole. Paint this line to make it more visible.
5) Now take parking brake off, put it in 4th gear and move the car back and forth while your FRIEND looks down on the flywheel next to this mark. When you can see the actual timing marks on the flywheel, put the parking brake on.
6) So what I tried to do is put special marks on the important degrees. For example, I put a dot next to the zero degree on the flywheel. I put a dash on the 10 degree, I put two dashes next to the 15, and a solid line at the 20 degree. Put a mark on whatever is important to you. Remember to write your code down somewhere so you don't forget what they mean after a year!
7) You will have to rock the car back and forth to move the timing mark from 0 to 20 deg as you paint your markings.
Thats it. Nothing really special. Now it's SOOO much easier to time the engine especially if you don't have a timing light with a dial.
