hot low idle when coming to stop and stalling

hi all...
Im currently in the USA visiting my GF who is here for work. She has a 1992 900i non turbo automatic. We just drove down to LA and back for the weekend... I did most of the driving.
It has a problem when at operating temperature, in that when coming to a stop at say a traffic light the car will idle around 400rpm, and then usually stall out. This problem is not present at cold, and it doesnt happen all the time when hot either - just most times. It will restart fine and as it should, but idle will remain around 400rpm. You need to feather the throttle in order to maintain the correct 900 -/+50rpm idle. Very annoying!!
She had it in at the local saab tech here, but they couldn't recreate the problem. Probably didn't drive it long enough to get up to warm/hot op temps.
All vac lines look fine and no leaks anywhere.
I was thinking NTC switch or AIC? Any other suggestions?
I was considering AMM too.
Car gets resonable mileage (considering its an auto).
Any help or suggestions would be great.
cheers
Steve
