Okay, I bought the battery 9 weeks ago (checked my credit card receipts)and probably drove the car ~100 miles between then and 5-6 wks ago. Started the car about 3 wks ago. I assume from what I know and what you have said that the battery died from sitting in the cold and not being driven enough to complete the charge while being started every couple of weeks to be moved in and out of the garage. The net result is the battery is dead. I just wanted to get a feel if their was systemic problem or whether this was the result of the circumstance I have outlined. Seems like it is the result of the circumstances I have outlined. I will charge and drive this weekend (maybe see if Autozone will exchange the battery) and then, per GaryJ's advice, disconnect the negative terminal while she sits.

I just wish it was warm so I could put the top down and take a long, mind clearing, cruise.
