Thanks JohnB -- I knew what you meant -- I used one today to pull vacuum on the diaphram and the timing advanced as it should. This is a borrowed and beat unit, and I don't think it will provide pressure to the diaphram to check the boost simulation. The diaphram does not leak, and will hold pressure, so I think that the diaphram is OK.

I did notice that one of the screws on the diaphram module that attaches it to the distributor body was loose -- I tightened it up, and then there was no movement of the mounting bracket.

Took out the Landjet, went up a hill in 2nd with throttle pressure, and then went WOT -- gauge shot to 14PSI (which could be 16 on this gauge) and then settled back to 10, then dropped to 7 as the rpms were gathered to 6K. I would say this is a pretty good example of boost overshoot. When I went to WOT -- it spun the wheels and got some tire squeel -- it really wants to run.

So, how does one defeat the pressure sensor transducer?
