Yeah, the Baltimore Parkway park police dude picked up on my M3 license plate covers that go mirror from any angle but straight behind! No points, equipment violation, pay the fine, cop keeps the covers....
BUT, the laser covers on my Saab haven't been picked up yet...they're completely transparent and just absorb laser energy, reducing the effective range to about two blocks. If you can't pick up a laser before then you probably deserve the ticket!

New MD law (two years old) outlaws ANY covering, transparent or like mine so the court doesn't have to argue about whether the law is vague or what visibility means. so the fuzz can and do discriminate about who to pull over for plate covers. OK, the fuzz knew what the covers do (and very effectively I might add, not that I deliberately run red lights but when a red light camera is on a 1.5--2 second amber I consider it a revenue enhancer!!).
