Try this before going into a panic:
If you can slip the alternator pulley by using your hands and not cycle the belts at the same time, your issue may just be moisture on cold pulleys/belts until friction builds heat, gripping surfaces. I just went through this thinking I might need a harmonic balancer. I marked The H-B with white-out to be sure but there was no deviation so I got lucky.
I had put new belts on a few months ago which must have stretched and then with the cold weather, the belts wouldn't expand from friction-generated heat. The squeal was driving me nuts on start-up. Between the seasonal moisture and stretched belts, they had to be tighten twice.
