So, four weeks ago this past Tuesday I call in an order to James at Group 9 (who has been great through all of this) for some brake parts and some new springs.
He wanted to sell me the Intrax which he had on sale but noOOoo, I wanted a progressive rate spring so I paid extra for the B+Gs
My order arrived promptly 5 days later except no springs. There's a whole other story about the B+G wharehouse delaying shipping that I won't go into but today I get my springs.
They were delivered to the Health and Family Services office in the Covington, Ky city building which is in another state, but luckily only fifteen minutes away.
I had threatened to cancel the order if I didn't have the springs by today so when the lady called from the Covington city building and said she had a package for me I rushed right over to get them.
OK so happy ending right? Wrong! I open the package and there is no freakin (fracking for you battlestar galactica fans)way that these springs are progressive rate springs. I know what a progressive rate spring looks like. It looks like the ones in the picture of the springs I thought I was getting.
These are definately linear/speciffic rate springs unless B+G has some secret metalurgical process that allows them to disguise a progressive rate spring as a linear rate spring.
I called B+G but they insist all their springs are progressive and if I don't like them all I have to do is take them back off and return them for a refund. And who should I bill for my time and effort for removal? I forgot to ask that last question.
So at this point I don't have a progressive spring, my car has been down for two weeks because I thought I'd have the springs two weeks ago and started the job, and I'm out 40 bucks because I thought I was buying a progressive rate spring.
I have no choice it seems but to use these as I can't find a true progressive wound sport spring for the 900, and I just need my car back.
Moral of the story I guess is if you want a progressive rate springs, write the company and request the rate values in writing before you order them.
