Thanks Ari. I think I probably DO have boost some time before the lights go out, but I've been a little hesitant to give 'em a good try while they're still on. Lately I've just been waiting to back out of the garage until they're off, but the first time or two I was actually already down the block & around two corners before they went out. I THINK I had "normal" feel by the time I reached the end of my block, but definitely NOT during the time it took me to back out of the garage & down the driveway into the street.
No, I didn't bleed any of the brake system after doing the clutch work. Since the reservoir has separate feed chambers for the two brake lines & the clutch, I was only losing enough fluid to reach the MIN line & then it was all clutch-only fluid. I flushed the entire system about a year ago, when I put on new rear pads, but not again 6 mos ago when I replaced the accumulator.
Bleeding/flushing sounds like a good idea at this point. I guess I'll hope for some warm weather this next weekend...
Even when the car's idling in the garage I'm not sure if I'm hearing the pump. It's against the firewall, right? Which side of the engine is it on? Does it help to have the hood open? Would it help to have someone else start the car so I can stick my head in the engine to listen?
Thanks again for your help.
