1979-1993 & 94 Conv [Subscribe to Daily Digest] |
I'd say there are rare parts (not many made), rare condition of parts or car (no rust or something like that), and rare Models of cars.
Rare parts:
Rear window Louvers for 3 door
Rear window Louvers for 4 door - more rare
spoiler for four door (three door spoilers are plentiful)
Shelby 8 spoke wheels with the caps, original finish not restored - not the minilites - the real deal.
ECODEs for 86 or older in good condition in the USA-complete with all of the connections-they were available at the dealer-I spent the $550 for them for my 1985.
SAAB Redbox ECU - not the DIY tuneup of the -599 boxes, the real deal.
Complete boot kit for convertible - including carry case and all clips in place - not faded or chipped plastic
Saab upgraded speakers for the front with tweeters in the grill.
upgraded factory clariion setups with radio/cassette *and* the cd/eq with outboard additional amplifier. 9K's have them, most 900's didn't.
Rare condition:
Low milage (<50k) C900's
No rust on the East Coast (sorry guys!
no rust.
did I mention no rust? Checkout eBay and look at engine compartment pictures - notice the exhaust manifold and the aluminum bits on salt areas they are really worn.
Car with *all* the maintenance docs, books with stamps, from day one.
One owner car (most have two or more owners - they just last!)
complete dash without *any* cracks. not even little ones in the corners of the speakers.
Leather seats that are 1) soft 2) not worn 3) the stiching is good in the bottom of the seats.
Rare(r) Cars:
SPG later years have more HP
Convertible 94 (last year plus non vert C900 ended in 93)
Anniversary editions of any model or year.
Two door with trunk. looks like four door but only front doors and front seats need to fold forward to let passengers out.
SIS (springtime in sweden) models
Fewer four door sedans (means a trunk and not hatch) with turbos and five speeds made, fewer years too.
SPG convertible five speed turbo.
Certain colors, the yellow bumblebee with SPG. most were autos, you want the 5 speed with turbo.
Many of these items can be either replaced with non Saab items or upgraded items. Or you can build something that never was. I.E. a 1987 convertible turbo 5 speed SPG. No such beast. But you can retrofit the SPG bits on the vert/turbo/5 speed to make it equal to a later year in performance/looks/HP. It depends upon what you are interested in doing.
I'm sure I missed several things...
