Noisy windshield wiper blade on glass (drivers side)

Not sure what is going on, just replaced my windshield wipers and just like the old ones, the drivers side wiper blade starts making a nasty squonking sound if I have them on the lowest constant speed setting and the rain is just spitting. This has nothing to do with the motor and mechanics, its the rubber on the glass. Its fine if the rain is pouring but when the rain lets up, it likes to complain! When I installed them I spent a lot of time, making sure I just barely tightened the nut to avoid excess pressure but still not allowing the wiper to come loose. But to no avail. Is there a way to reduce the pressure of the wiper on the glass without loosening the nut more? Thanks. 85 SPG
