The AC was fine before, except for a little high side leak.
I'll do as you suggested when it goes back together.
Would you suggest a particular cleaner?
I planned to have it "sucked down" but now I know why..lol.
I'm in Atlanta and do a lot of slow - stop - shut the car off - go talk for 10 min - then back to the car - start it up - and off again - maybe 15 times a day.
So when it's 90 something degrees and 100% humidity, I'm assuming the AC system may need some help or do you think a properly running system would have no problems? what can I do to help it out?
There are 4 things in an AC system that we can control (to some extent)
heat in, heat out, compressor speed and specific heat capacity of the refrigerant.
I can turn the interior fan down so the system can keep up (assuming it can't for some situation) - then I'll be a sweaty mess and that wouldn't be good for work.
I can pull more heat out of the system with stronger front fans.
I really can't control the compressor speed unless I bump up the idle.
I can't get r12 - r134a is cheap - snake oil? lol.
When I said the AC was fine before, I wasn't pushing the system hard. Just your normal stuff. But I will be in traffic (it's Atlanta) all the time.
I'd like to get through the summer before I have to get something else that won't have it's 21st birthday in November.
Maybe there will be no problem, but I thought I'd ask before I put everything together and get it charged.
Thanks for all the info!!
