My dash had about 7-8 cravasses and I had thought about filling the crack with that heat resistant(yet flexy) black silicone used to seal around hot pipes.
In the end I figured that I'd look alot better with an entire dash laminant/skin which I got from StateofNine.com for about $100. It went in nicely with a little trimming on the forward edge (like where the VIN tab sticks up). It came with clear silicone adhesive. I used some spring loaded scissor clamps in and around the spkrs holes after putting a piece of wood under the upper clamp teeth/edge to ensure broader contact. Then wedged kids soccer balls to load/compress the aft dash edge. Used that foam insulation "rope" 3/4"dia. to push down/compress the dashskin's leading edge along the windshield. It dried over night. They say this new vinyl wont crack and it matches the existing dash rather well. You would't ordinarilly notice that its a skin unless you went looking at the 2 extreme edges of the dash where it transitions or the minimal 1 inch "lip" between the center vent and glove box- hardly something to focus on.
Think about it.
