the block holds close to 4L of water after your flush, so you're fine with the MB you added. Completely draining the block requires removing the plug underneath the exhaust manifold--- it's a pain to get to, and not necessary if you do a thorough water flush like Townsend describes. If you have a lot of corrosion (rust + particulates) in the block, then removing that plug does give it a place to drain the junk out though...
