Removing the O2 sensor wire locks the ECU at a fixed fuel mixture default value which allows the car to run...fuel mixture control is "switched" from a fixed fuel mixture ratio to a controlled (ECU) variable mixture based on O2 sensor readings after the car is warmed up. Unfortunately your ECU does not appear to be working properly. If turbo and you have an AMM then this input into the ECU could also be the problem.
