the fuel injectors are sitting on the high side at top of engine. they have wires coming off the top of them, there are four of them, and they sit at 90 degree angle to head.

the fuel pressure regulator (fpr) is located at the front (firewall end) of engine, again at the top at the end of the fuel rail where the injectors draw gas from. you can look on the big auction site for pics of it, it's a drum shaped thing with hose fittins coming off of it.

the black box with the polished ribs that says 16 valve on it is the cover for the hydraulic lifters and the cams (valve cover). there isn't anything under there to do with the fpr. the flat metal plate inbetween the two ribbed parts of the valve cover is the spark plug wire cover. you can take that off by undoing the four screws to see where the wires attach straight down to the sparkplugs.

at the very least get a haynes manual available at any of the major chain store auto parts places. it is a good beginner book. the bentley manual (the bible) is more comprehensive, but whereas the haynes manual will say to use a broomstick handle to.... the bentley will say to use saab special tool....

don't go replacing parts willy nilly until you're sure they are the culprits for whatever issues you're having. otherwise you will end up spending money you don't need to or tossing a perfectly good part in the trash.
