Kevin,
The white smoke is coming from the engine about the intake manifold. It occurs if I run the engine for over 40 minutes at speeds above 65 mph (sooner at 75-80mph). The thermostat will read 3/4 of the way to red. I've had the thermostat "fixed" two years ago where Ken Batchelor put 4 resistors on it so that it would read the "correct" temp. The oil looks brand new. The only problem is that I have put 4 quarts into it over the past 2 weeks. There is a small amount of oil on the driveway in the morning but it couldn't be more than 50cc. Somehow, the engine is burning it up. The coolant is mixed with 1/4 water, but I'll adjust that tonight. The automatic transmission has been overall good, however, if I slow quickly, it may stay in third when it should be in second. It's hard to tell for sure, but it certainly drags between 20 and 30 after hitting the brakes. It runs great when I put it in 1 and 2 manually from a stand still. It also shifts great if I stomp on it from a stand still.....although I've only tested that a couple of times.
What do you think?
Steve
