depowering the rack mainly gives better road feel - i dont know how to describe this other than to say drive a car with power steering then drive the exact same car but with manual steering - you would know what im talking about then. yes steering is tougher - but only at lower speeds (under 20mph) and even then its not too bad. you also lose weight in removing the pump, reservoir, hoses, etc. and less weight = faster car (albeit not by much in this instance)
