A garden variety 900T (or 9000T) distributor will work fine. Just make sure that it's from a late '88 onwards Turbo and has the rectangular connector.
The difference lies in the turbo and non-turbo distrubutors - up to the advent of the 2.1 litre engine, the non turbos don't have the advance pot on the side and, after that, they don't have the hall-effect sensor in the distributor.
So, you're safe getting one from a late '88 through '93 900.
A few more things to think about:
- It's possible that the ignition module (on the outside of the engine compartment, a handsbreadth away from the APC box) has died - that's a more common failure than the Hall-effect sensor.
- Check the distributor cap and the rotor. Sometimes the carbon button in the cap wears away and, spark can't make it into the distributor. And, sometimes the resistance element in the rotor dies - so check that with an ohmmeter. Both of those failure secnarios have been posted here on the C900 board.
