SPG engine. Is it better?

I heard that the SPG engine is in no way different to your standard 900 2.0 Turbo engine. I have an SPG engine which I need the head off of, and I was going to take the block to the dump. Is this true? Or does this engine have a better crank/pistons/connecting rods/camshafts? Or did they just adjust the wastegate to dump at a higher pressure.

Also, its a 90' block which looks like it has a different turbo. I will just drill and plumb the coolant line like I did my present engine. I heard something about a saab turbo, and a mitsubishi turbo.
