Here's a pic of the battery heat shield in my '86, might be a little different in your '94 CV.
The shield attaches to the battery tray with long J-bolts and thumb screws with the plastic portion at the top and bent back slightly over the battery. There isn't much room between the metal part of the shield and the turbo so make sure it isn't touching there. One thing that helps, especially if the battery is larger than OEM, is to slide the battery as far forward and as far back toward the fender in the tray as possible.
