Marty: both the heads and pistons make a difference, depending on how youy mix and match. But for 1985 only a 16 head will keep the ratio 9 to 1 since the 85 16 has 8 valve pistons. After that the ratio goes lower I beleive. Piston dish 16 newer then 85 vs 8 is different. Best to measure the chamber volume of the heads you have using a lab buret. If you know both, new comp ratio can be found. Also need intake cam timing info for trapped ratio. You need a book on performance engine building for the maths and chamber measuring.
Biggest challenge may be attaching 8 valve injectors to the manifold.
