Back in May 2006, Anders posted a response to a front crankshaft seal seating issue as follows: (my question follows)
===========================================================
Did you push the seal is as far as it goes? In that case it is too far in.
The outer edge of seal should be about 1/16 below the edge of oil pump housing.
If too far in the lip of seal will only ride on the tapered edge of crank pulley.

Specific to a 1992 900S CV (non-turbo, 5 speed), I'm concerned that I did not install the crank seal properly when I changed the crankshaft pulley about 8 weeks ago, and now have a slow oil leak.
If you position the crankseal as indicated, what prevents it from pushing in further when the pulley is installed?
Also, what is the correct order of installation? Is it crankseal first (positioned/seated as indicated above), pulley second, spacer third, crankshaft pulley bolt fourth, and then the outer separate pulley last, or something different (if different, what is the correct order)?
Thanks,
Todd inMA
