Not to quibble, but do those headlights have sandblasted lenses that make them look a little tired?
I've wondered if these things can be brightened back up without new glass. I've even started a project trying to block-sand an old light with fine Tri-M-Ite and later polish with cerium oxide on a felt wheel, to see if I could do it.
But the project is on hold. I seemed to have good results with the block sanding, dropping way down the number of pits I could perceive, the more I sanded. But before polishing the glass, I decided I needed to craft a wooden stand to hold the light face up in a deep shop sink while I splattered polish around. Will post more if I get good results.
Are there any telescope lens grinders on here, who'd know about polishing glass?
