sometimes things turn out to be simple. and it make not hurt to check them out.
I have found that a good "fuel injection cleaner" stops the hesitation in my 93.
I have started to use "sea foam" (about $7 or a pint can at Auto Zone). With the engine running at idle, I unplug a vacuum line (leaving it still sucking) and stick the end in the can and let it suck in about half the car while tweaking the throttle with my left hand. Smokes like the blazes. When done sucking in that half can, shut it down for 20 min to an hour. Then light it off and just let the smoke burn itself off in a couple minutes. I dump the rest of the can in the low fuel level gas tank.
Car runs much smoother afterwards. They claim it cleans deposits and the O2 sensor. Don't know, but it does something useful.
First time I tried it the gas mileage went from about 20 to 23-24 on regular (it usually gets more on premium and I'm running that now)
I have no connection with the company, I just buy the stuff and use it.
