the only way I could think is somehow (at the sensor itself) the wires melted together? Or the meter you are using is not quick enough to show the fluctuations? Try (if possible) to spin motor by hand. usually when there is a break in the circuit there would be 0 volts.
the splice kit is without the 2+ feet of wire and connector, I think it may only be about a foot of wire.
definetly need to know for sure 'cause that is PITA work to remove the pulley + the cash for that sensor (hence why if you read way back I converted to distributor hall sensor).
